Amazing news that a number of previously uncollected Lord Dunsany stories are turning up. They’d apparently been sitting unregarded in the yellowing pages of various old British newspapers.
I am the origin of this news. 🙂
I have been canvassing various digitised newspaper collections online for mentions of Dunsany, and found some really cool stuff. Mostly it is just unknown appearances of previously known (collected and uncollected) stories, essays, and poems, but I have found at least three previously unknown and uncollected stories, and several (I don’t recall the exact number) unknown articles (with the caveat that I haven’t read that many of Dunsany’s essays and articles before, so it is possible that these items are known already but under different titles).
I said “at least three previously unknown and uncollected stories”, because I have also found a handful of stories the texts of which are not available online, so I can’t confirm whether they are really new. Someone will have to go to the British Library for me to check them.
