Lovecraft in audio, before digital…
UPDATE: Additions to the ‘Lovecraft audio before digital’ gallery post. Many thanks to Dennis Weiler of Fedogan, for sending me more cover art from Lovecraft audio cassettes. Dennis writes of them…
“Our “Fungi From Yuggoth” is on [picture] 01, initially released in 1987 on cassette alone. As far as I know, it was the first HPL poetry recording ever released for sale. All of these J-cards are from cassettes in my possession. The R.M. Price recording is marked 1997, but I’ve no idea whether digital-format was released. It was a Necronomicon Press production, I think.”

Let me know if you want to add an image our the original release(s) of “Fungi From Yuggoth” read by John Arthur, with original score by Mike Olson, in 1987. We did it on cassettes, although the re-release in the 1990s was remastered DDD, and the new release will be ? 2015.———– That release may be the most-plagiarized audio HPF ever, as it was pirated to vinyl in the early 90s, Napstered later in the 90s, and is still being posted illegally as YouTube nearly annually!
I could scan and email the original j-card, if you like…

Thanks, Dennis, yes I’d love to add that to this small collection.

What a treat! Since David McCallum is now the much-loved elderly pathologist on television’s NCIS series, it would be fun to ask him if he remembers recording these, back in the dark, digital-less days of the later 20th century. And the covers!! Oh, the covers!
