The JURN index and Directory updated. 32 new titles added, 25 repaired.

Removed, because dead:

Colloquia back issues (1983-2007); Nordic Journal of Architectural Research; Applied Theater Researcher; Journal of Texas Music History (site live, PDFs dead); Kilvert Society Journal (now members-only); Future Reflections: Blind Children; Limit{E} Beckett (Samuel Beckett); Mots Pluriels; Literature Matters (British Council); Cineaste (articles still online, home page totally dead); Language & Ecology; Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies; ; Seachange; and PAGE.

The JURN Directory has been checked using Linkbot, for dead, broken or moved links. The following journals were removed from the Directory and from the main search index, because either dead or newly paywalled: Intensities, journal of cult media; as-Sikka (Islamic Coins Group); Mapline; Critical Inquiry; Ivy Journal of Ethics; Quaderns de la Mediterrània; eHKCSS, E-Journal on Hong Kong Cultural and Social Studies; Minnesota Review.

Twelve new journals were added to the search index today.

I’ve checked the JURN Directory using Linkbot:—

* Discovered and fixed about 15 broken URLs, and also fixed these in the Search URL database if needed.

* Added 18 new journal titles.

* Removed from the Directory and Search URLs database, because dead: Thlazine; Cybermetrics; Altitude; Inbhear; Broadsheet; Yemen Update; Mouseion (gone to live behind the Project Muse wall, seemingly?); Italian Politics and Society; Journal of Philosophical Practice; Views; Text, Practice and Performance; Digital Document Quarterly.

All the JURN Directory links were checked using Linkbot, with 10 changed URLs repaired.

A list of all URLs in the main JURN Index were checked for continuing presence on the Google Search Index, using Google Index Verifier. URLs containing wildcards were trimmed back before being checked. Missing URLs were repaired or deleted.

In the past month around 65 titles have been newly added to the JURN search index.

All the JURN Directory links checked using Linkbot, with 18 moved URLs corrected and around ten dead or newly-paywalled journals deleted from the Directory and Search Index. In the past month around 30 titles have been newly added to the Search Index. Please note that the PDF list of all titles indexed is now no longer being updated, and will remain as it was at 2nd April 2011.

All the JURN Directory links checked using Linkbot, and errors repaired or deleted. All the main Index’s URLs trimmed and checked for continuing presence on the Google Search Index, using Google Index Verifier, and errors repaired or deleted. Over 100 ejournals were newly added to the Search Index in the last six weeks.
