Lovecraft sent to Donald Wandrei in 1934, with his own ink drawing overlay and self-portrait.  Part of the Brown University collection&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/shepardcaf.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/shepardcaf.jpg?w=529\" alt=\"shepardcaf\" width=\"529\" height=\"283\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-9491\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It presumably shows his black writing materials case, seen resting at the foot of the chair.
