This being a survey of b&#038;w comics that have, over the decades, adapted various Lovecraft tales.<\/p>\n<p>I especially liked the look of the opening splash page for &#8220;The Music of Erich Zann\u201d adapted by Roy Thomas, in the short-lived <em>Masters of Terror<\/em> #2 (September 1975). <em>Masters of Terror<\/em> was a b&#038;w magazine-format comics anthology published under Marvel&#8217;s Curtis cover-imprint, offering reprints.<\/p>\n<p>I tracked it down online and found the same (final) issue also had &#8220;Pickman&#8217;s Model&#8221;, again adapted by Roy Thomas&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/pickman-marvel.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/pickman-marvel.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"528\" height=\"737\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-58693\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/pickman-marvel.jpg 539w, https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/pickman-marvel-528x737.jpg 528w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A rather good &#8220;Zann&#8221; <em>reprint<\/em> then, but from where? A little digging finds it was originally in colour under the title &#8220;The Music From Beyond&#8221; in Marvel&#8217;s regular-sized <em>Chamber Of Darkness<\/em> (issue #5, June 1970).
