{"id":57090,"date":"2022-10-25T09:10:09","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T09:10:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/?p=57090"},"modified":"2022-11-17T22:57:18","modified_gmt":"2022-11-17T22:57:18","slug":"picking-pickman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/index.php\/2022\/10\/25\/picking-pickman\/","title":{"rendered":"Picking &#8220;Pickman&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> finds the new and just-released Netflix anthology series uneven, further finding&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>[Lovecraft&#8217;s] \u201cPickman\u2019s Model\u201d overlong and over-obvious [while] \u201cDreams in the Witch House\u201d is the &#8220;story of a man (Rupert Grint, not bad at all) trying to reconnect with his long-deceased sister, [and] is the only episode that actually looks cheap.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The only other review I can find is an early one from Pfangirl, who enjoyed &#8220;Witch House&#8221; as&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>over-the-top supernatural fun, though it sadly strips out Lovecraft\u2019s cosmic terror in favour of fairy tale elements<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So it sounds like it&#8217;s only a &#8216;very loosely based on&#8217; Lovecraft&#8217; adaptation, despite the name.
