Lovecraft &#8230; sprawling mists, forgotten deities and poignant creatures<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/gallq.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/gallq.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"356\" height=\"385\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-56845\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also I found a <a href=\"https:\/\/lavieenbd.com\/2022\/09\/20\/balado-emission-du-20-septembre-2022-la-cite-oblique-de-christian-quesnel-a-hp-lovecraft\/\">podcast interview<\/a> with the artist, though it doesn&#8217;t appear to be in English.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/copie-de-ecc81dition.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/copie-de-ecc81dition.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"251\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56848\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The blurb for the podcast usefully reveals that the works are also in a print volume&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>his [BD] album <em>La Cit\u00e9 oblique<\/em>, published by Editions Alto<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-10-09_021334.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-10-09_021334.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"111\" height=\"172\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-56844\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Tracking this down, one finds that <a href=\"https:\/\/editionsalto.com\/droits-rights\/la-cite-oblique\/\">the book appeared in August 2022<\/a> and the blurb reveals more&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Christian Quesnel spent several years creating this magnum opus, which is enriched by Ariane Gelinas\u2019s soaring prose &#8230; a parallel history of Quebec &#8230; [Lovecraft&#8217;s] wanderings through \u201cthe city of enigmas walled behind the closed shutters of dream\u201d combine brilliantly with a Lovecraftian tale of the brave deeds of Qartier and Loui Heyber. The result is a highly hallucinatory tribute to the father of the Cthulhu Mythos, as well as a fascinating reworking of the past.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Sounds great.
