Lovecraft<\/a>. I assume it&#8217;s real currency that might buy you &#8532;&#8217;s of a ginger-beer on one of their beautiful atoll beaches.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2022-09-17_134227.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2022-09-17_134227.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"528\" height=\"236\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-56579\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2022-09-17_134227.jpg 769w, https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2022-09-17_134227-528x236.jpg 528w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 528px) 100vw, 528px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But isn&#8217;t little Palau supposed to be beneath the rising waves by now, like R&#8217;lyeh? Nope. Despite many claims heard in the media, <a href=\"https:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1002\/wcc.557\">none<\/a> of the Pacific atoll islands with people on them are shrinking.<\/p>\n<p>Incidentally, looking up the spelling of <em>R&#8217;lyeh<\/em> via search shows that Google doesn&#8217;t know what it is when slightly mis-spelled.
