He was Lovecraft&#8217;s good friend and a fellow weird writer. I have the text <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/index.php\/2014\/08\/13\/whitehead-editoral-prejudice-against-the-occult-1922\/\">online here<\/a>. It appeared in <em>The Writer<\/em> in 1922, and thus provides a useful snapshot of the prejudice among American story-magazine editors at the point when Lovecraft was emerging as a public writer.
