Not, as you might think from the title, romping tales of the English greenwood from the times of <em>Ivanhoe<\/em> and <em>Robin Hood<\/em>. Rather, &#8220;impossible&#8221; tall tales, humorously mind-bending moustache-twiddling &#8216;club&#8217; tales, more ably indicated by the titles of the stories themselves&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The Unpresentable Appearance of Colonel Crane.<br \/>\nThe Improbable Success of Mr. Owen Hood\tKingsnake.<br \/>\nThe Unobtrusive Traffic of Captain Pierce.<br \/>\nThe Elusive Companion of Parson White.<br \/>\nThe Exclusive Luxury of Enoch Oates.<br \/>\nThe Unthinkable Theory of Professor Green.<br \/>\nThe Unprecedented Architecture of Commander Blair.<br \/>\nThe Ultimate Ultimatum of the League of the Long Bow.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Curious&#8221; rather than weird tales, and perhaps of interest to some <em>Tentaclii<\/em> readers.<\/p>\n<p>The book is also on <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/dli.ernet.476036\/page\/3\/mode\/2up\">Archive.org<\/a> in open PDF, from the Digital Library of India.
