Lovecraft. Two books are freely available online which show something of what he saw in the place.<\/p>\n<p>Uploaded to Archive.org in 2019, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/artistssketchboo1906horn\/page\/13\/mode\/2up\">An Artist&#8217;s Sketch Book of old Marblehead<\/a><\/em>, with very fine pen and ink sketches of the town and its environs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/marblehead.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/marblehead.jpg?w=529\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"780\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-39721\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Also on Archive.org is <em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/in.ernet.dli.2015.168038\">Old Marblehead: A Camera Impression<\/a><\/em>, although sadly it&#8217;s one of thousands of Public Library of India scans in which the pictures are ruined by incredibly harsh contrast.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/oldhill.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/oldhill.jpg?w=529\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"357\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-39723\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Still, one can see what the completist Lovecraftian would be getting, if the book were to be picked up in paper for a private library.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/oldm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/oldm.jpg?w=529\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"689\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-39724\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Old Marblehead was a well-loved haunt of H.P.
