{"id":3766,"date":"2011-12-14T01:13:08","date_gmt":"2011-12-13T22:13:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tentaclii.wordpress.com\/?p=3766"},"modified":"2011-12-14T01:13:08","modified_gmt":"2011-12-13T22:13:08","slug":"transmedia-lovecraft-call-for-creatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/index.php\/2011\/12\/14\/transmedia-lovecraft-call-for-creatives\/","title":{"rendered":"Transmedia Lovecraft &#8211; call for creatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Lovecraftian transmedia storytelling project is <a href=\"http:\/\/brendangannon.net\/writers-storytellers-wanted-for-collaborative-lovecraftian-project\/\">calling for Writers \/ Storytellers<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Not a paid gig, but minimal commitment; compensation will include early access to cool new story-related technology.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The call&#8217;s coming by a web developer and multimedia producer based in Boston, USA.<\/p>\n<p>Some key lessons I learned from a transmedia ARG masterclass during the summer: transmedia works need multiple time-sensitive entry-points to the narrative, not just one entry-point at the start; lead the audience into two x half-hour blocks over four weeks (eight weeks is too long).<\/p>\n<p>Several folks have had similar ideas.  A Twitter-based game called <em>Cthalloween<\/em> is discussed <a href=\"http:\/\/multi-hyphenate.com\/?p=1336\">here<\/a> (as if Twitter isn&#8217;t horrific enough&#8230;).  And Alchemic Dream apparently have a game wireframed, called <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/alchemic-dream\/transmedia-storytelling-410695\/product\">Kadath Quest<\/a><\/em>.  Others have apparently mumbled on Twitter that the format might be a way to get away from having to actually read Lovecraft&#8217;s fiction.
