Old days &#8230;. old days&#8230;&#8230;\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/05-120954-17.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/05-120954-17.jpg?w=529\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"340\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-24161\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cReeves\u2019 American Band from Providence\u201d, 1902.<\/p>\n<p>Lovecraft was still occasionally attending similar concerts in the early 1930s&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The amiable if not excessively profound Thomas S. Evans [Lovecraft&#8217;s Providence acquaintance, 145 Medway St.] &#8211; he of the dramatick &amp; playwriting predilections &#8211; called me up &amp; urged me to accompany him to a concert of the newly organised Providence Concert Band in historick Infantry Hall (now re-modedelled on the interior, tho&#8217; still possesst of that nauseous Victorian belfry), &amp; having no striking objection, I acquiesced.
