Joshi and Sarnath Press have released a new expanded edition of Joshi&#8217;s book <em>The Modern Weird Tale: A Critique of Horror Fiction<\/em>. As he writes on <a href=\"http:\/\/stjoshi.org\/news.html\">his blog<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This is a substantial expansion of my <em>Modern Weird Tale<\/em> (2001), restoring the cuts \u2014 specifically, the chapters on Les Daniels, Dennis Etchison (whose own passing occurred only a few weeks ago), and David J. Schow, along with introductory passages to sections II, IV, and V \u2014 that my publisher, McFarland, required me to make.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The new expanded version is titled <em><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2KWbVxQ\">Weird Fiction in the Later 20th Century<\/a><\/em> and is available as low-cost Kindle ebook as well as in paperback.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/newjoshi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/newjoshi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"330\" height=\"496\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-27473\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>S.T.
