{"id":2521,"date":"2011-08-06T09:12:07","date_gmt":"2011-08-06T06:12:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tentaclii.wordpress.com\/?p=2521"},"modified":"2011-08-06T09:12:07","modified_gmt":"2011-08-06T06:12:07","slug":"the-vault-to-be-prepped-for-a-movie-pitch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/tentaclii\/index.php\/2011\/08\/06\/the-vault-to-be-prepped-for-a-movie-pitch\/","title":{"rendered":"The Vault to be prepped for a movie pitch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> reports that Johnny Depp <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/heat-vision\/johnny-depp-graham-king-teaming-219496\">had bought the film rights to <em>The Vault<\/em><\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>the underwater sci-fi story centers on a group of divers who, off the coast of Nova Scotia, uncover a sarcophagus with unusual remains and inadvertently unleash an ancient evil.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Said evil apparently has links to the Great Pyramid, Stonehenge, and the Easter Island statues, etc. Nostrodamus gets a name check, rather than the <em>Necronomicon<\/em>.  But in general it sounds fab and rather Lovecraftian and reminds me of Lovecraft&#8217;s story \u201cThe Temple\u201d (1920).   Apparently it&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.brokenfrontier.com\/lowdown\/p\/detail\/opening-the-vault-sam-sarkar-discusses-his-new-image-miniseries\">out now as an ongoing comic-book series<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A great looking and believable [comic] series, it creates a real sense of danger and is the kind of adventure we rarely see in today\u2019s spandex-epic driven market. &mdash; Broken Frontier.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The concluding third comic-book installment is due in October 2011 (don&#8217;t read the promo blurb for #3, if you don&#8217;t want a huge plot spoiler landed on you by the marketing idiots).
