But I&#8217;ll make an exception for the annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rehfoundation.org\/2019-reh-foundation-awards-preliminary-ballot\/\">Robert E. Howard Foundation Awards<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Perusing the nominations led me to the short appreciation of an R. E. Howard vampire story, <a href=\"https:\/\/dmrbooks.com\/test-blog\/2017\/12\/29\/nosferatu-necronomica-solomon-kane-in-the-hills-of-the-dead\">&#8220;Nosferatu Necronomica \u2013 Solomon Kane in the Hills of the Dead&#8221;<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>This in turn led me to discover that Tantor has kindly given away <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sffaudio.com\/the-sffaudio-podcast-236-audiobook-readalong-the-hills-of-the-dead-by-robert-e-howard\/\">a free and complete and unabridged reading of the same story<\/a>, from their paid audiobook <em><a href=\"https:\/\/tantor.com\/the-savage-tales-of-solomon-kane-robert-e-howard.html\">The Savage Tales Of Solomon Kane<\/a><\/em>, in .MP3 download.<\/p>\n<p>Archive.org also has the free <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/Weird_Tales_v16n02_1930-08_sas\/page\/n3?q=%22Hills+of+the+Dead%22\"><em>Weird Tales<\/em>, August 1930<\/a>, with &#8220;Hills of the Dead&#8221; in full. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I take no notice of &#8216;Awards&#8217; these days, literary or otherwise, for the obvious reasons.
