The inner cover has a short evocation of the cover painting, written by former Lovecraft <em>protege<\/em> and friend Frank Belknap Long. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/fb-long-fant-univ-1956.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/fb-long-fant-univ-1956.png?w=529\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"259\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-17652\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The artist was Ed Moritz, who had been a Nedor comics artist in the 1940s on the pre-Marvel <em>Doc Strange<\/em>. My attempted digital restoration of the painting, not entirely successful on the planet surface.
