Lovecraft.  In the news this month&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/motherboard.vice.com\/read\/how-could-quantum-physics-get-weirder-shattered-wavefunctions\">Researchers at Brown University have shattered an electron wave function<\/a>, that near-mythical representation of indeterminate reality, in which an unmeasured particle is able to occupy many states simultaneously&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/au.news.yahoo.com\/technology\/a\/25293925\/nine-real-technologies-that-will-soon-be-inside-you\/\">A team at Brown University called BrainGate<\/a> is at the forefront of the real-world movement to link human brains directly to computers&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Brown University is part of a team looking at <a href=\"http:\/\/news.psu.edu\/story\/332258\/2014\/10\/28\/research\/politics-can-interact-evolution-shape-human-destiny\">the environment&#8217;s influence on human adaptation and how it changes biology<\/a>&#8230;  Genes can shape culture and political institutions, which in turn can shape biology and physiology, passing on certain traits to future generations.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nautiluslive.org\/blog\/2014\/10\/07\/meet-siphonophore\">becoming world experts<\/a> on creatures that look like <em>this<\/em>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/siphono.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/siphono.jpg?w=529\" alt=\"siphono\" width=\"529\" height=\"352\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-13710\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why, gosh &mdash; one could almost imagine that the folks at Brown University were channelling H.P.
