The copyright troll in question rather amazingly claims to own copyright on combinations of Shakespeare&#8217;s <em>The Tempest<\/em> and Lovecraft.  Even more amazingly, Kickstarter felt obliged to suspend guffaws of mocking laughter and actually take him at his word. Such &#8216;DMCA takedown requests&#8217; (as they are known) are being widely abused like this, and WordPress.com is seeking <a href=\"http:\/\/en.blog.wordpress.com\/2013\/11\/21\/striking-back-against-censorship\/\">high-level legal rulings in the USA<\/a> which would allow for legal suits to be brought against those who &#8220;knowingly materially misrepresent&#8221; a case of alleged copyright infringement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/posterweb-243x350.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/tentaclii\/oldimages\/posterweb-243x350.jpg\" alt=\"POSTERWEB-243x350\" width=\"243\" height=\"350\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10381\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The bad typography on the above cover, however, <em>is<\/em> very clearly a criminal act (against good taste)&#8230; \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Kickstarter project Prospero&#8217;s Price has been halted by a spurious copyright claim.
