Either that, or she was an awesomely good lip-reader and could do so &#8216;in dialect&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>Given this text, and her novel <em>Dora and her Papa<\/em>, one suspects there&#8217;s more Stoke\/Moorlands material in her body of work (other than the Wedgwood books).  Apparently she knew <a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/spyders\/2012\/07\/20\/wedgwood-institute-as-a-symbol-of-savage-inequality\/\">William Woodall<\/a> of Burslem, as well as Thomas Bateman.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another important local text found.
