In their English edition it will be titled <em>A Hobbit\u2019s Holiday: J.R.R. Tolkien\u2019s Journeys in the Belle Epoque<\/em>. The book apparently considers the young Tolkien\u2019s various real journeys as formative encounters, made in unfamiliar landscapes such as Switzerland, Scotland, Paris, Brittany, Cornwall etc.<\/p>\n<p>* <em>The Inklings<\/em> blog notices <a href=\"https:\/\/internationalinklingsday.substack.com\/p\/inklings-2026-a-preview-and-giveaway\">the 100th Anniversary of the meeting of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis<\/a>. (Substack, but freely available online).<\/p>\n<p>* <em>The Imaginative Conservative<\/em> has a new article on <a href=\"https:\/\/theimaginativeconservative.org\/2026\/05\/tolkien-chesterton-sloth-england-joseph-pearce.html\">&#8220;Tolkien, Chesterton, &#038; the Sloth of England&#8221;<\/a>. Freely available online.<\/p>\n<p>* Matej Cadil starts blogging his <a href=\"https:\/\/matejcadil.substack.com\/p\/an-unexpected-party\">artistic journey through Tolkien<\/a>. (Substack, but freely available online).<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;So here we set out together: chapter by chapter through The Hobbit. It&#8217;s located about 40 miles east of the city of Lyon in central France. This summer and autumn they have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cerdonvalleedelain.fr\/cuivrerie-de-cerdon-programmation?lang=en\">a Tolkien and metalwork exhibition<\/a>&#8230; <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;a unique exhibition where copperwork meets the imagination of J.R.R.
