An edited volume of essays, due in &#8220;mid April&#8221; 2024. He is quoted as noting that Tolkien had worked on&#8230; &#8220;the four chapters of <em>Jonah<\/em> and a literary revision of <em>Habbakuk&#8221;<\/em>. I knew about <em>Jonah<\/em>, but not the other. According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.english.op.org\/godzdogz\/neglected-books-of-the-old-testament-habbakuk\/\">reliable source<\/a> the short Old Testament book of <em>Habakkuk<\/em> is about a circa 600 B.C. prophet &#8220;who stands at the watchtower awaiting God\u2019s answer&#8221;, after the man&#8217;s frank and pointed questioning about why God permits the great distress then being inflicted on his chosen people.<\/p>\n<p>* <em>The University Bookman<\/em> reviews the new Tolkien letters, in <a href=\"https:\/\/kirkcenter.org\/reviews\/the-mind-of-middle-earth-exploring-the-letters-of-j-r-r-tolkien\/\">&#8220;The Mind Of Middle-earth&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>* New in open-access and in English, <a href=\"https:\/\/thesis.unipd.it\/handle\/20.500.12608\/63690\"><em>&#8220;The Fellowship of the Ring<\/em>: A comparison of three Italian translations with the original text&#8221;<\/a> (2024).<\/p>\n<p>* Lovecraft and Tolkien, considered in relation to new scientific findings about ivy on the walls of buildings. Tolkien&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>* A new revised and expanded edition of Tom Shippey&#8217;s book <em><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3xk9Iqq\">Beowulf Translation and Commentary<\/a><\/em>, shipping now. <\/p>\n<p>* And finally, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.farnhamherald.com\/news\/plaques-to-be-unveiled-to-four-notable-names-of-farnham-including-tolkien-illustrator-and-un-mine-expert-674694\">a public wall-plaque for Tolkien illustrator Pauline Baynes<\/a>, in her home town of Farnham.
