Written in Latin, with an English version. <\/p>\n<blockquote><p>By its own country Metal [mined lead] is led on<br \/>\nCaptive to rocks of artificial stone.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/spyders\/oldimages\/hansons-colleague-with-book-800x445.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1515\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/spyders\/oldimages\/hansons-colleague-with-book-800x445.jpg?w=640\" width=\"640\" height=\"356\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1515\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/spyders\/oldimages\/d-e-mirabilibus-pecci-being-the-wonders-of-the-peak.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1514\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/spyders\/oldimages\/d-e-mirabilibus-pecci-being-the-wonders-of-the-peak.jpg?w=640\" width=\"640\" height=\"577\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1514\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There was also a later book-poem imitative of Hobbes, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/wonderspeake00cottgoog\">The Wonders of the Peake<\/a><\/em> (1725), which is also online for free.
