And are thus useful for proper research search.<\/p>\n<p>Test query: Tolkien 2023 -calendar<\/p>\n<p>Tested: Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google Search, Google Scholar, Carrot2, eTools, Amazon.uk, YouTube, Yandex, Listen Notes (podcast search), Amazon, Internet Archive (\u201ctext contents\u201d), Yahoo Search.<\/p>\n<p>Results: The following still respect the minus sign:<\/p>\n<p>* Google Search.<\/p>\n<p>* Carrot2.<\/p>\n<p>* eTools.<\/p>\n<p>* Google Scholar (though there\u2019s strange behaviour with this search \u2013 only two rather random results and a link to \u201csee all\u201d).<\/p>\n<p>* YouTube, but only if you do it as\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Tolkien 2023 NOT -calendar<\/p>\n<p>All the others failed. Yandex is unusable these days due to constant complex captchas, so couldn\u2019t be tested.
