{"id":22237,"date":"2019-03-05T06:40:34","date_gmt":"2019-03-05T05:40:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jurnsearch.wordpress.com\/?p=22237"},"modified":"2019-03-05T06:40:34","modified_gmt":"2019-03-05T05:40:34","slug":"search-serendipity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/index.php\/2019\/03\/05\/search-serendipity\/","title":{"rendered":"Search serendipity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An example of the strange ways in which search serendipity can (and often does) work&#8230;  <\/p>\n<p>Ahead of the release of Zbrush 2019, I was searching for &#8220;npr&#8221; 3d shader in: Google Search | &#8216;Last Month&#8217;. <\/p>\n<p>On the second page of results, I discover the &#8216;moved and lost from JURN a year ago&#8217; archive of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.raf.mod.uk\/what-we-do\/centre-for-air-and-space-power-studies\/publications\/\">the RAF&#8217;s <em>Air Power<\/em> journals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A search for &#8220;npr&#8221; 3d shader has nothing to do with the British Royal Air Force. &#8216;NPR&#8217; being non-photorealistic rendering with &#8216;3D&#8217; computer models that have been fitted with &#8216;shader&#8217; materials, to make them look like hand-drawn cartoons when they&#8217;re rendered into graphical form.
