{"id":21304,"date":"2018-07-17T08:27:19","date_gmt":"2018-07-17T07:27:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jurnsearch.wordpress.com\/?p=21304"},"modified":"2018-07-17T08:27:19","modified_gmt":"2018-07-17T07:27:19","slug":"new-type-of-custom-search-engine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/index.php\/2018\/07\/17\/new-type-of-custom-search-engine\/","title":{"rendered":"New type of Custom Search Engine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Google Custom Search has <a href=\"https:\/\/customsearch.googleblog.com\/2018\/07\/expanding-our-custom-search-engine.html\">slightly expanded the range of services<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p>The Standard and Non-profit CSE services are unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>They also offer an CSE via a JSON API: there&#8217;s no Google branding on that, but you pay $5 per thousand queries, and are limited to 10,000 search queries per day.  <\/p>\n<p>The new and fourth offering is a &#8220;Site Restricted JSON API&#8221;: it also requires the same &#8220;$5 per thousand search queries&#8221; payment.  But if you search across <strong>no more than 10 URLs<\/strong>, then there&#8217;s no daily traffic limit.  <\/p>\n<p>I guess a use-case for this would be a huge and very heavily-used corporation like Boeing, where you want to offer your clients the quickest and most accurate way to search across all your technical reports, papers and manuals &mdash; which are spread across 10 different URLs?
