Sadly it doesn\u2019t yet work with the excellent OS-based <a href=\"http:\/\/footpathmaps.com\/\">footpathmaps.com<\/a> or the historic <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.nls.uk\/geo\/find\/#zoom=15&amp;lat=52.9208&amp;lon=-2.1762&amp;layers=39&amp;b=1&amp;point=0,0\">maps.nls.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Usage: make sure you use the six-number format, e.g. <font color=\"Blue\">SJ<\/font><font color=\"Red\">882<\/font><font color=\"Green\">359<\/font>.  If you have a more precise eight number OS Grid Reference &mdash; such as <font color=\"Blue\">SJ<\/font><font color=\"Red\">882<\/font>?<font color=\"Green\">359<\/font>? &mdash; then you&#8217;ll need to lop off the last &#8216;?&#8217; number in each block of four, and then cross-reference with the same spot in the OS-based <a href=\"http:\/\/footpathmaps.com\/\">footpathmaps.com<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.nls.uk\/geo\/find\/#zoom=15&amp;lat=52.9208&amp;lon=-2.1762&amp;layers=39&amp;b=1&amp;point=0,0\">maps.nls.uk<\/a> to work out the precise spot.<\/p>\n<p>We could really use a Web browser plugin that streamlines all this, and intelligently discriminates between six and eight OS digit map references.
