Google Search results for <strong>site:www.getty.edu\/art\/collection\/ &#8220;without charge&#8221;<\/strong> suggests there are currently around 1,700 such images in the Getty Open Content public domain programme. Sharp 20mb+ hi-res versions are available, though a simple anonymous form on which the user tells Getty the intended use.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/getty.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/getty.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"56\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18987\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Getty has an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getty.edu\/art\/collection\/\">Advanced Search panel<\/a> which can limit the search results to Getty Open Content.  A test for &#8220;rabbit&#8221; unearthed nine items, but failed to unearth a delightful rabbit in a 13th century illuminated manuscript.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/advanced.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/advanced.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"184\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18976\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/rabbit.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/rabbit.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"445\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18977\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The manuscript rabbit was however found via a straightforward keyword search in DuckDuckGo&#8217;s Image Search&#8230; <\/p>\n<p><strong>site:www.getty.edu\/art\/collection &#8220;without charge&#8221; rabbit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/rabbitman.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/rabbitman.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"361\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18978\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However I should note that DuckDuckGo Image Search also failed to find the other nine &#8220;rabbit&#8221; results. <\/p>\n<p>Further perusal of the 17Mb source picture for the single-rabbit image found by DuckDuckGo, revealed there were actually <em>two<\/em> such rabbits on the manuscript page&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/tworabbits.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/2017\/04\/tworabbits.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"180\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-18979\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thus a combination of a Getty Advanced Search and DuckDuckGo Image Search seems useful for public domain picture researchers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Getty Open Content in the Getty Art Collection.
