{"id":11175,"date":"2014-06-05T13:58:16","date_gmt":"2014-06-05T12:58:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jurnsearch.wordpress.com\/?p=11175"},"modified":"2014-06-05T13:58:16","modified_gmt":"2014-06-05T12:58:16","slug":"nice-to-know","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/jurnsearch\/index.php\/2014\/06\/05\/nice-to-know\/","title":{"rendered":"Nice to know"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) <a href=\"http:\/\/curia.europa.eu\/juris\/document\/document.jsf?text=&amp;docid=153302&amp;pageIndex=0&amp;doclang=EN&amp;mode=req&amp;dir=&amp;occ=first&amp;part=1&amp;cid=399092\">declared today<\/a> that UK and European Internet users are not acting illegally when simply browsing copyrighted material online.  <\/p>\n<p>The equivalent of the USA&#8217;s Supreme Court established that users engaged in &#8220;Temporary acts of reproduction &#8230; which are transient or incidental&#8221; (Article 5.1 of the EU Copyright Directive) &mdash; such as files automatically copied to a Web browser\u2019s temporary cache and displayed on screen &mdash; must not be considered to be making illegal copies.
