{"id":582,"date":"2012-03-18T12:33:01","date_gmt":"2012-03-18T12:33:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/?p=582"},"modified":"2012-03-18T12:33:01","modified_gmt":"2012-03-18T12:33:01","slug":"setting-up-speed-previews-with-a-new-poser-pro-2012-install","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/dazposer\/index.php\/2012\/03\/18\/setting-up-speed-previews-with-a-new-poser-pro-2012-install\/","title":{"rendered":"Setting up speed-previews with a new Poser Pro 2014 install"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In re-learning Poser Pro 2014 after some years away from Poser, these are the two most important things I&#8217;ve yet learned &mdash; in terms of how to make &#8220;speed previews&#8221; to check lighting and positioning:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> You should turn off Anti-alias in the OpenGL Preview, which has the effect of removing the 20-second delay on moving from wireframe to OpenGL preview and generally speeding up the real-time viewport. <em>Update: no longer needed on Poser 11.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/alias-preview.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/alias-preview.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"alias-preview\" width=\"300\" height=\"263\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-583\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> On the default FireFly settings, simply turn Pixel Samples down to &#8220;2&#8221; and Min Shading Rate to &#8220;12.50&#8221;.  Save it as a manual preset. Using this preset means you can render a small 640px preview in about five seconds.  The textures will be soupy, but you&#8217;ll see how the lighting will actually look in a final render.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/quicklightingpreviewposer.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/quicklightingpreviewposer.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"quicklightingpreviewposer\" width=\"300\" height=\"262\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-584\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>These simple tweaks (save them as Render Presets) vastly improve the experience of working with Poser.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In re-learning Poser Pro 2014 after some years away from Poser, these are the two most important things I&#8217;ve yet learned &mdash; in terms of how to make &#8220;speed previews&#8221; to check lighting and positioning: 1.
