{"id":14761,"date":"2020-09-07T08:24:41","date_gmt":"2020-09-07T08:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/?p=14761"},"modified":"2020-09-07T08:24:41","modified_gmt":"2020-09-07T08:24:41","slug":"fix-the-fin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/dazposer\/index.php\/2020\/09\/07\/fix-the-fin\/","title":{"rendered":"Fix the fin&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Does your base early Genesis figure always load into DAZ Studio with a head ridge \/ fin morph on her head, like she&#8217;s all set to audition for the next <em>Aquaman<\/em> movie?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/genesis-head-ridge.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/genesis-head-ridge.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"160\" height=\"176\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-14762\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the simple fix&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/cure.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/cure.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"156\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-14763\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Right-click<\/strong> the top of the Parameters tab | Restore | Restore Figure.  If you don&#8217;t see the Parameters tab anywhere, to open it you go: Top Menu bar | Window | Panes.<\/p>\n<p>If it&#8217;s impossible for you to find this menu command, amidst the tangled and confusing DAZ Studio interface, then the keyboard command is&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ctrl + Shift + F<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; and this will fix the selected figure.  Think of it as &#8220;F for Fin&#8221;!<\/p>\n<p>However, this doesn&#8217;t fix it for good. It re-appears when you open a save scene (i.e. a saved scene on which you <em>thought<\/em> the fin had been removed) in which you have a dressed and posed Genesis 1 figure.  Once you have your figure dressed and posed, what you need to do to &#8220;fix the fin&#8221; is to go to the Shaping panel, Select Head, and Restore Selected Item&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/reset.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/reset.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"326\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-15693\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s caused by &#8220;CranialRidge&#8221; loading with Genesis at 100%.  This is from the free pack <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sharecg.com\/v\/76909\/related\/21\/DAZ-Studio\/Genesis-Head-Morphs\">Genesis Head Morphs<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/crania.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/crania.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"383\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15701\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Judging by the comments on the freebie page, others have also had this problem.   Deleting the file from ..\\content\\data\\DAZ 3D\\Genesis\\Base\\Morphs\\Agent 0013\\Genesis_CranialRidge-Center_Morph fixes the problem, and a new Genesis 1 will load with no problem. Though any saved Genesis 1 scene files will load with a &#8220;missing files&#8221; freak-out from DAZ Studio.
