Survey of 3D dogs for DAZ Studio or Poser, realistic and toon:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The “DAZ Millennium Dog” is free on the DAZ Store, in the form of a MillDog LE (light) version<\/a> that has 43 basic morphs. This DAZ MilDog sent the old Poser 4 dog<\/a> to the retirement kennels. Renderosity has a pack of 25 poses<\/a> that specifically work with the LE version of the Millennium Dog.<\/p>\n

The “Millennium Dog Starter Pack”<\/a>, also on the DAZ Store, injects 120 morphs into the MilDog LE, thus allowing a variety of popular large breeds to be created… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Also on the DAZ Store there is a “Real Fur for the Millennium Dog”<\/a> pack (likely to send render times through the roof, if my experience of cat fur is anything to go by); the “Classic Canines Combo”<\/a> provides a major textures pack; and the “Canine Journey Poses”<\/a> pack….<\/p>\n

Puppies and pup lovers are ably catered for by the DAZ Store’s “Millennium Puppy”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you want all<\/em> the DAZ Store’s main dog and puppy packs, save by getting them in the combined “Ultimate Canine Bundle”<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A free MilDog accessory is a small dog crate<\/a>. <\/p>\n

There doesn’t appear to be a dog accessories pack, curiously. I’d have expected someone to make a dog toys \/ basket \/ brush \/ lead set by now. Nor do there appear to be any police & rescue services dog liveries.<\/p>\n

The poor old Poser 8 “dog with no name” (a quality dog that shipped with Poser 8, designed by the famous Stonemason) doesn’t seem to have ever had much love. Content Paradise has a single lone pose set<\/a> for him…<\/p>\n

Lovers of small and toy dog breeds are not well catered for in the DAZ \/ Poser<\/a> world. Some free morph sets were produced for the old Poser 4 dog — such as CloudCastle’s Dachshund<\/a>; and Lyne’s Basset Hound<\/a> which has also been extended with 3D Menagerie’s comprehensive set of Basset morps<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Meshbox has Mister Puggles<\/a> which is a realistic pug dog for Poser 6…<\/p>\n

Toon dogs (that are not too bizarre-looking) include 3D Universe’s Bacon<\/a>… <\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

Bacon has a Dog’s Life pose<\/a> pack and Hound Dog textures<\/a> packs on the DAZ Store.<\/p>\n

Digital Creation’s Dawg<\/a> is not too bad, but you may want to tone down the horrible specularity\/bump-map combo that is supposed to be his hair texture…<\/p>\n

Into science-fiction? Robot dogs include Renderosity’s Hell Hound Cyber-Dog<\/a> which has very nice “worn” textures…<\/p>\n

Need something sleeker? The OnTarget3D store has a free Mech Robot Dog Dinosaur<\/a>…<\/p>\n

Quality ‘demon dogs<\/a>‘ include the DAZ Store’s “Gargoyle Hound”<\/a> and its Demon Dogs Add-on Pack<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Renderosity also has this which might look good in darker lighting than it’s shown in here…<\/p>\n

About ten years ago there was a very good stylised “Demon Dog” morph and texture pack for the old Poser 4 dog, but it appears to have vanished into the mists of history…<\/p>\n

Similarly, there was also once an “Alien Dogs” pack of morphs and textures, along with a similar “Alien Cats” pack, but neither of these packs seem to be available anywhere now…<\/p>\n
