Previously it would not even load its user interface. So I tried Emiliano Colantoni&#8217;s Wasp Bot demo .blend again.  It&#8217;s now nice and smooth when orbited and tilted in Eevee.  Better than when I tried it back in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/?p=7694\">September 2017<\/a>.  Then it took about &#8220;40 seconds&#8221; for the textures to load in, and now it&#8217;s perhaps 8 seconds. Nice. I could also increase anti-aliasing, and the camera moves were still responsive.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/eevee.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/eevee.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"355\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12176\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, trying to &#8220;Render&#8221; this to a graphic, in either Eevee or Cycles, crashes Blender to the desktop <em>every<\/em> time.  Every damn time. Oh well, it&#8217;s a nice real-time viewport and one can take screenshots of it I guess&#8230; but this doesn&#8217;t change my opinion that one needs a powerful graphics-card these days to run Blender. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My GPU driver update and OpenGL upgrade has enabled Blender 2.8 for me.
