{"id":11883,"date":"2019-10-27T13:10:01","date_gmt":"2019-10-27T13:10:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/?p=11883"},"modified":"2019-10-27T13:10:01","modified_gmt":"2019-10-27T13:10:01","slug":"tsathoggua-sketched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jurn.link\/dazposer\/index.php\/2019\/10\/27\/tsathoggua-sketched\/","title":{"rendered":"Tsathoggua sketched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently picked up Sixus1&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.renderosity.com\/marketplace\/products\/122342\/?AID=4737\">Tsathoggua for Poser<\/a> for just $1.79, and for a slightly chunkier $4.49 I also had Sixus1&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.renderosity.com\/marketplace\/products\/122367\/?AID=4737\">Triceratox<\/a>.  Here&#8217;s my demo of Tsathoggua as a Triceratox rider, which also evolved into a quick demo of a few of the many capabilities of Poser&#8217;s Sketch renderer (when you take it away from the default presets).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Default &#8216;raw&#8217; real-time comic-book Preview.<\/strong>  No Sketch in action here. It&#8217;s not ideal, mostly because the textures are gungy as heck, and thus unsuited to tooning.  But here I was experimenting to see what Sketch could do in such cases.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/tsog-raw.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/tsog-raw.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11884\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>1930s pulp illustration scan.<\/strong> Not bad, some of the grunge seems more tolerable when made into &#8216;chalky-pastel&#8217;, and it has a badly-printed look that says &#8216;pre-1990s comics and pulps&#8217;.  20 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/tsog-1930s-pulp.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/tsog-1930s-pulp.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11885\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Shadows could be lifted with Photoshop&#8217;s &#8216;Shadows\/Highlights&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A light base for over-painting.<\/strong>  For a painting with a lighter feel.  10 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/tsog-painting-base.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/tsog-painting-base.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11886\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>A heavy base for over-painting.<\/strong>  For a darker &#8216;oil painting&#8217; type over-painting.  10 seconds.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/tsog-oil-painting-base.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.jurn.link\/dazposer\/oldimages\/tsog-oil-painting-base.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-11887\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;Bernie Wrightson called, he wants his pens back&#8230;&#8221;<\/strong> This took a little longer, two minutes, but is viable (i.e. doesn&#8217;t crash Poser).
